Mirch Masala Indisches Restaurant in Giessen

Once every two weeks we want to "treat ourselves" to something. We ordered from this restaurant as it has many good reviews. However, we were completely disappointed. Instead of the food taking 30 minutes to arrive - as announced - it took just under an hour. After 45 minutes I called to politely ask if it was already on the way. I was replied rude and rude. When it arrived, we immediately unpacked and ate the food. My prawns were heavily overcooked - corresponding rubber consistency - and the vegetarian kofte were more of a squeezed must and not very tasty. In general, the food was unfortunately cold and the taste - especially for the price - VERY disappointing. Never again and, at least once to order, not to be recommended!

We tasted the Dal Makhani. Even with medium spice, it was far too spicy for us to handle (and we are Indians). It did not taste like the typical Punjabi Dal Makhani, but was overall nice. The owner is very friendly and gave us a coke on the house. He also offered as much extra rice as we needed without charging us. The restaurant is spacious and is ideally located at walking distance from the Buxtehude Bahnof.

Update... Good restaurant, very hospitable and tasty. Even special requests are dealt with in an uncomplicated manner and met accordingly. Recently we were there with friends, from which one came from the corner of the Indian subcontinent. We were curious about his judgment and lo and behold, he said it tastes like home :-)

Very good Indian food, we have eaten Indian many times and you really have to say that it is unbelievably good here and you immediately notice that the cooks have a clue.

Very good cuisine, very tasty, great staff who also know something about the dishes. We won't be there for the last time.

It was our first visit to the Masala today. We received a very warm and hospitable welcome. The starter with various dips, as well as the traditional bread were freshly prepared and a treat for the palate. Released from the generously portioned main course, which also impressed with the tender meat and fresh vegetables. The service was really great and made us feel very welcome. A tasty brandy for digestion was served on Hearts of the House. All in all a very cozy restaurant with lots of charm and delicious food. Gladly again!

Five stars ***** by Annika & Sven for a perfect evening Due to the appealing oriental ambience and the possibility to dine in the somewhat remote area, we were given a wonderful romantic evening. The Indian food was delicious and the friendliness of the staff exceeded all requests. Recommended for everyone who appreciates good food, decent portions at reasonable prices in a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for the perfect evening with delicious food and advice on spices, we'd love to come back.

I was there today with my sister at lunchtime. As always, the food was delicious and I wanted to pay with an EC card. Unfortunately there was a problem with the device and then I had to find the change together. I had a little too little money, but the dear waiter offered me to simply pay next time. In the end, I had exactly 80 cents too little and he took it that way. You can only wish for such amiable and courteous people. We will of course be happy to come back and next time with a big thank you and tip. 🙏🏽 ♥ ️

Always very tasty, many variations and cheap prices at lunch, plus large portions and very nice owners.

We had different curries, an appetizer variation and dessert, all delicious. Service was very nice and even the cappuccino was really good.

At first I had a good meal here, but suddenly it wasn't so tasty anymore. Dogs have been accepted. If you post something bad, the dog will no longer be welcomed. So very dependent on reviews.

We were there for the first time. The place has a very pleasant atmosphere. The service is second to none. Seldom experienced such a friendly and courteous service. The food was great and plentiful. The Indian rum as a "clearer" after the meal was great! Highly Recommended.

We have been to Masala several times. As always, it was very, very tasty. The owners are very friendly and also happy to explain food and advice if you are unsure of the spiciness and taste. We can definitely recommend it and will definitely go there again soon.

There is no better way to eat Indian in Germany. A classic food orientation from the north of the country and therefore not too spicy. Extremely friendly service and appetizing menu. We were allowed to take our dog with us. We would like to come again. Please pay attention to the intricacies of the interior. Touching up a few bumped edges here and there and a bit of new paint would make the overall impression perfect.

The second time in 4 days. Deliciously delicious food! Cheap. And very, very friendly service. This will be our new regular restaurant.

Was a random visit to this place. Ordered Paneer tikka masala and it had flesh in it. I asked him politely what shall be done now and the waiter cluelessly looks at me and says "well, we have separate kitchens for veg and non-veg" and apologised. He offered me a new dish. However, he was not willing to be polite if I would have lost my cool. Ps: I am a vegetarian and have no issue with a non-veg kitchen. The mango lassi was ok. Not so bad. I hope they take it seriously because you don't meet people like me who have no religious reasons to not eat meat but any other strict Indian would have made a scene there.

The four of us tried the 5-course menu. Very tasty preparation and always small taste explosions in the mouth. The staff always informed you exactly what was being prepared for each of the dishes. We are thrilled and can recommend it without hesitation.

Bariani rice is the best!

Very good and friendly service. Beautiful decoration. Roti, Naan, Channa, chicken Tikka and Panneer were excellent.

No doubts - best Indian Restaurant in Buxtehude. And I've been looking for a very long time.The popularity increased recently so you better book a table before going there!

Awesome food, super friendly staff , place was extremely busy but still the staff tried their best to serve the people . Top recommendations and do try the Chai ,amazing indian ginger tea . 👍
